Welcome to the The Sins of the Fathers digital platform ("The Fortress"). We value the privacy of our operatives and readers. This document outlines how we collect, use, and protect your data.

1. Data Collection (Intel Gathering)

We collect information to provide a better experience and to manage your access to The Fortress.

  • Identity Data: When you sign up via Google or Email (Firebase Auth), we store your email address, display name, and profile picture URL.
  • Operational Data: We track your interaction with the timeline, factions, and lore pages to improve the narrative experience (via Google Analytics).
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and device information are automatically logged for security and diagnostic purposes.

2. Use of Data (Mission Objectives)

Your data is used solely for the following purposes:

  • To authenticate your identity and secure your account.
  • To personalize your dossier (profile page) and save your allegiance (faction choice).
  • To analyze system performance and user engagement.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third-party brokers.

3. Third-Party Systems (Alliances)

We utilize trusted third-party services to operate this infrastructure:

  • Firebase (Google): For authentication, database, and hosting services.
  • Sanity.io: For content management and delivery.
  • Shopier / Gumroad: For processing external purchases. Note: We do not store your credit card information on our servers; payment processing happens on their secure platforms.

4. Data Retention (Burn Identity)

You have the right to disappear. You can delete your account ("Burn Identity") at any time through your Profile page. Upon deletion, your personal identifier in our primary database is removed. Some anonymous logs may remain for system integrity.

5. Cookies (Tracking Beacons)

We use cookies to maintain your session and preferences. You may disable cookies in your browser settings, but some terminal functions may become unavailable.
